Testimonials

Lisa has been our medicare person since we moved to KY 5 years ago. She has done a great job helping us select a plan that works for us. She has explained things clearly and has reviewed new options with us as our needs/health situations and doctors changed. She's very thorough and pleasant.

Your One-Stop Medicare Shop

Medicare Resource Center is your local one-stop Medicare shop serving the Northern Kentucky, Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus markets. A full-service insurance brokerage, we offer Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage and Part D plans from most major carriers. Our free, no-obligation Medicare consultations are available in-person or via secure video conference by appointment.  A typical new client consultation lasts about an hour, during which we'll cover some Medicare basics as well as your coverage preferences regarding Medicare Supplements (Medigap), Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription drug plans. Bring your list of doctors and/or medications with you if you'd like so we can narrow down a list of plans based on the doctors you see and/or medications you take. By the end of our process you should come away with one or two plan recommendations based on your coverage preferences and a thorough needs analysis.  From there we can discuss next steps (plan deep dive, follow up at a later date, enrollment, etc.)

If you are within three months of turning age 65 or older and not ready to start your monthly Social Security benefits yet, you can access the Social Security Administration's online retirement application to sign up just for Medicare and wait to apply for your retirement or spouses benefits later. It takes less than 10 minutes, and there are no forms to sign and usually no documentation is required.  For those not able or willing to apply for Medicare online, you can also request a phone appointment by calling your local social security office.  Please note that it can take 3 weeks or more to get on their schedule for a callback, so be sure to give them a call as soon as you make the decision to apply.  If you're already drawing social security you should receive your Medicare card automatically about 3 months prior to your 65th birthday month.

For higher income beneficiaries (those making more than $91,000/year if single, or $182,000/year if married in 2022), please be sure to check out the Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA) charged by the Social Security Administration for your Medicare Part B and Part D premiums.  Amounts change from year-to-year and are based on your Modified Adjusted Gross Income from two (2) years prior.  While Medicare can many times offer a greater savings vs. employer provided coverage, the IRMAA surcharge can change this calculus.  Don't be caught off-guard.  Know your true Medicare costs before you apply.

We look forward to working with you!
